Why Participate?:
The need for unique programs like these is evident in our culture.
Numerous studies document the direct value of participation in
programs that focus on building self-esteem and better decision-making
skills. Research indicates the economic, social and personal value
of "investing" in the lives of women in a positive and
constructive manner avoids the social costs that may later result.
Programs like The Indian Cowgirl Association and the Wiyan Waste’ (Good
Woman) Program will help reduce the potential to become involved
in unhealthy choices.
The media is crafting our culture and giving women a distorted
idea of what is important. We here at Whitehawk Ranch want to focus
women on what's truly important in life. The following statistics
reflect the issues facing both teen girls and adult women. Whitehawk
Ranch was created to help women combat the unhealthy information
they receive from our popular culture in the areas of health, self-esteem
and moral decision-making.
